Artist statement –

Our animation project, a 2D hand-drawn animation with creative coding. Also with the use of music and after effect.

The concept of the work is a reflection practice.

The main character eventually went into the majority track and did not insist to follow his own dream. We think things like that always happen in our society. We found that youngsters nowadays always choose to give up on dreams since they have no hope on dreaming now. Having a dream sounds ridiculous in Hong Kong. Except for financial problems, society and family pressure are also elements that make people daunted. It is a pity thing to see.

We understand it is hard to follow your heart and overcome the difficulties but we still want to let them reflect about is giving up your dream a good choice for you. Sometimes we can also be “rebellious", following the majority does not mean is it the right track for us. At the same time, it is also an intrapersonal communication, a message for us as it is also happening on ourselves too.
